Biography

Davide Arioldi is a Post-Doc researcher at the Institute of Economic Research (IRE) at the Università della Svizzera italiana. He graduated from the University Cattolica del S. Cuore in Milan and earned his PhD in Economics from USI in 2018, focusing on international trade. He has previously worked as a quantitative analyst and portfolio manager in investment firms, concentrating on economic forecasting and nowcasting. Arioldi contributes to the Observatory of Economic Dynamics (O-De) and has taken part in the Observatory of Public Finance Energy (O-FPE), where he developed a forecasting model for fiscal revenue that provides comparative studies on regional government public finance. In 2021, he created an online platform to analyze the impact of economic policies on local populations. His current research interests include Bayesian Neural Networks, Probabilistic Programming, Causal Structure Learning, and text analysis, as well as comparative economic systems and international trade.
