Professor Dr. Davide Dell Anna

Biography

Davide Dell'Anna is an Assistant Professor in the Responsible AI group at Utrecht University. His research interests span Human-centred Artificial Intelligence, Human-AI Collaboration, and Socially Responsible AI. His overall goal is to develop methodologies and solutions for Artificial Intelligence systems that cooperate synergistically and proactively with humans. His work focuses on automated data-driven mechanisms that explicitly account for human intentionality and expertise to ensure that behaviors of AI systems are aligned with human norms and values. He is a member of the Hybrid Intelligence Centre, where he studies how to amplify human-machine intelligence by combining their complementary strengths. Davide is enthusiastic about supervising and mentoring students on projects that involve the integration of Artificial Intelligence in human-centric environments. He is particularly excited about developing socially aware and explainable AI systems that collaborate and coordinate effectively with humans.
