Davide Pigoli received his Ph.D. in Mathematical Models and Methods for Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2013. His thesis focused on statistical inference for covariance operators, functional data analysis, and spatially distributed covariance matrices. Following this, he was a Research Fellow in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick from February 2013 to March 2014 and a Research Associate in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge from April 2014 to August 2017. Since September 2017, Davide has served as a Lecturer in Statistics at King's College London. His research interests include functional high-dimensional data analysis, manifold-valued object-oriented data analysis, and spatial statistics, with applications in linguistics, forensics, quantitative genetics, and biosciences. He has contributed to various peer-reviewed articles exploring statistical methodologies in the context of real-world applications, such as public health observational data analysis related to COVID-19.
