Biography

Davide Vampa is a Senior Lecturer in Territorial Politics at the University of Edinburgh, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Centre on Constitutional Change. He completed his PhD in Political Science at the European University Institute in 2015 and holds an MPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford, an MA in European Studies from King’s College London, and a BA in History from the University of Milan. Davide has extensive teaching and research experience at several UK universities including the London School of Economics and the University of Nottingham. His research focuses on the intersection of territorial politics, public policy, and democratic representation, with a particular emphasis on the rise of populism, the crisis of social democracy, and growing sub-national electoral instability. He has been the Principal Investigator on major projects, including a British Academy funded project analyzing socio-political gaps in capital cities and peripheral areas of Scotland and Wales. His publications include articles in leading international journals such as West European Politics and Government Opposition, and he has authored four books and co-edited several volumes. Davide is also engaged in projects analyzing shifting territorial politics in Germany and other European countries in the aftermath of the pandemic.
