Biography

Davide Vettori is a lecturer in Environmental Fluid Mechanics at the University of Glasgow, where he joined after completing postdoctoral research at Loughborough University and Politecnico di Torino. He earned his PhD in Engineering from the University of Aberdeen in 2016. He is an experimentalist focused on flow-biota interactions and various aspects of environmental fluid mechanics. In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship to study the role of seagrass in coastal protection through the SHIEELD project. His research areas include turbulence in open channels, combined wave-current flows, vegetated flow dynamics, hydraulic resistance, wave attenuation due to vegetation, and nature-based solutions for environmental challenges.
