Biography

Dawn Balsdon is an instructor at the University of Regina's Faculty of Nursing, where she teaches nursing theory, leadership, and community health nursing therapeutics. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Trent University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Health Science in Community Population Health from Ontario Tech University, and is currently a doctoral student in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan with a focus on Community and Population Health. Her current research projects include examining transitions in health care for dual diagnosis youth, evaluating mental health resilience in nursing students, and the development of an Indigenous-centered holistic health assessment tool. An active contributor to numerous projects, she has published a comprehensive work as an editor for Lilley’s Pharmacology Canadian Health Care Practice. Balsdon is dedicated to promoting resiliency in nursing students through innovative curriculum development and research initiatives.
