Dr. Dawn Coleman

Biography

Dawn M Coleman is a Professor of Surgery at Duke University, where she serves as the Chief of the Division of Vascular Endovascular Surgery. She specializes in vascular surgery and holds significant leadership roles in residency and fellowship programs. Coleman completed her medical education at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her M.D. and B.S. degrees. She then went on to train at the University of Michigan, completing a fellowship in vascular surgery, as well as residencies in general and emergency medicine. Her research interests focus on innovative strategies to reduce amputation rates in peripheral arterial disease and addressing health disparities. Coleman has been recognized for her contributions to clinical research and has received grants from notable institutions for her work in community-engaged interventions for diabetes and peripheral vascular conditions.
