Biography

Dawn LaPorte is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, specializing in hand and wrist injuries, including ligament injuries, avascular necrosis, arthritis, and nerve compression syndromes. She is the Vice Chairman of Education and Residency Program Director for Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. LaPorte completed her undergraduate degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and subsequently trained in orthopaedic surgery at Johns Hopkins, where she also completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Curtis National Hand Center. Dr. LaPorte has been involved in various committees for the American Society of Surgery of the Hand and has served as the Program Chair for its annual meeting. She actively contributes to advancing resident education and serves on the Governing Council of the national Council of Orthopaedic Residency Directors.
