Biography

Dawn Power is a Sessional Lecturer at the University of British Columbia and has taught courses on Egyptian religion and the archaeological study of ancient Egypt. She completed her BA in Religious Studies at McMaster University and earned both her Specialist Degree and MA in Egyptology from the University of Toronto. Dawn also holds a PhD from the University of Liverpool, where she focused her research on the Book of Caverns. Since 2019, she has been actively involved in teaching at the University of Toronto and has engaged with various Egyptological societies. Dawn served as the President of the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities in the Toronto Chapter from 2020 to 2022 and remains an active member of the community. Her work includes presenting at conferences across Europe and North America and consulting for institutions like the Bolton Museum in England, where she provided hieroglyphic translations for renovated exhibits.
