Biography

Dayna Laviolette is an Instructor II at the College of Nursing, University of Manitoba. After graduating from the University of Manitoba Nursing program in 2011, she worked in various clinical settings, including NICU and Adult Day Surgery, and held a long-term position in Neurosurgery. Her passion for education led her to pursue a Master’s in Nursing with a focus on teaching from Athabasca University in 2018. Since joining the College of Nursing in 2019, Dayna has engaged with students in multiple capacities, including simulation facilitator, skills course leader, theory instructor, and faculty advisor for senior practicums. She aims to enhance her professional development while contributing to numerous college committees and is dedicated to creating supportive learning environments for her students. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of linking theories to clinical practice, using storytelling to solidify learning through real-life scenarios. Dayna is committed to encouraging her students to explore the nursing field and build meaningful relationships within the program, celebrating their successes along the way.
