Dr. Dean Corbae

Biography

Dean Corbae is the Academic Director of the Puelicher Center for Banking and the William Sellery Trukenbrod Chair in Finance at the Wisconsin School of Business. He holds a tenured appointment in the Economics department at the University of Wisconsin. Previously, he was the Centennial Professor of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin, and served as a visiting professor at prestigious institutions such as the Wharton School and Cambridge University. Corbae is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and an elected Fellow of the Econometric Society. His research interests lie in macroeconomics and econometrics, with a focus on consumer credit, bankruptcy, foreclosures, and banking industry dynamics. He has published in leading journals including Econometrica and the Journal of Political Economy, and is co-author of a notable textbook on mathematical analysis in economic theory and econometrics. Additionally, he has held various editorial positions and actively participates in high-impact conferences and professional organizations.
