Biography

Deborah Adewole is an Assistant Professor in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources at the University of Saskatchewan. She specializes in nonruminant nutrition with a focus on poultry and swine nutrition. Her research program aims to develop nutritional strategies to enhance gut health using microbiome analysis, histomorphometry, and metabolomic tools. Adewole investigates bioactive substances to improve animal health in situations where antibiotics are absent due to physiological stressors, such as thermal stress. Her work also evaluates novel feed ingredients that can serve as alternatives to conventional feedstuffs, helping to offset feed costs while increasing the value of poultry and pork products. Adewole obtained her PhD in Monogastric Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of Manitoba and holds an MSc in Swine Nutrition from the same institution, as well as a Bachelor of Agriculture in Soil Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
