Professor Dr. Deborah Sloboda

Biography

Deborah Sloboda is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University, where she has been a faculty member since 2012. She holds an Associate appointment in the Departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Pediatrics. Dr. Sloboda's research focuses on areas of cell metabolism, health community services, medical physiology, nutritional physiology, and reproductive and systems physiology. She is a Canada Research Chair in Perinatal Programming and serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Liggins Institute in New Zealand, maintaining collaborative efforts in her field. Her work contributes significantly to understanding the physiological adaptations in early life and their long-term impacts on health.
