Dr. Deepa Camenga

Biography

Deepa Camenga is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She is a board-certified physician specializing in pediatrics and addiction medicine, with a focus on adolescent addiction. Her research aims to improve the identification and treatment of substance use disorders among youth in pediatric settings. Camenga is the Associate Director of Pediatric Programs within the Yale Program on Addiction Medicine, where she leads efforts to prescribe medication treatments for opioid use disorder in adolescents. She has been an elected member of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Committee on Substance Use Prevention, which works to enhance the health and well-being of children and adolescents across the United States. She completed her medical education and residency training at the University of Rochester, NY, followed by a fellowship in health services research through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program at Yale. Her work emphasizes developing and evaluating innovative, technology-enhanced interventions aimed at reducing drug use among adolescents and young adults.
