Dr. Deepa Gopal

Biography

Deepa Gopal, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University and serves as a Staff Cardiologist at the Boston Medical Center. She completed a five-year fellowship at Boston University, where she received a teaching award. Dr. Gopal is active in various professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Failure Society of America. She participates in the Cardiology Fellowship Selection Committee at her university. Her research focuses on cardiovascular health, particularly in heart failure and related conditions, and she oversees several clinical trials funded by prominent organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Gopal’s research work involves identifying preclinical heart failure and developing clinical phenotyping approaches for patients at high risk for heart failure, especially those with preserved ejection fraction. She has co-authored multiple publications in the field and is recognized for her contributions to advancing cardiovascular medicine.
