Dr. Deepa Ramadurai

Biography

Deepa Ramadurai, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago, specializing in Pulmonary Critical Care. She completed her medical education at the Zucker School of Medicine in New York and pursued her residency in internal medicine, including a chief residency at the University of Colorado in Denver. Her fellowship was at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also earned a Master of Science in Health Policy Research and participated in the Measey Medical Education Fellowship. Ramadurai's clinical interests focus on education and mechanical ventilation, aiming to enhance patient-centered outcomes in critical care settings. Her research addresses health inequities and serious illnesses, particularly in advanced lung disease. She is the Co-Director of the COPD Program at the University of Chicago and is actively involved in the Internal Medicine Residency Program, particularly in intern recruitment. Ramadurai has contributed to various publications regarding social determinants of health and their impact on critical care practices.
