Dr. Deepa Ramadurai

Biography

Deepa Ramadurai, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago in the Department of Medicine, specializing in Pulmonary Critical Care. She completed her medical education at Zucker School of Medicine in New York, followed by an internal medicine residency, where she also served as chief resident, at the University of Colorado in Denver. Ramadurai pursued a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, obtaining a Master of Science in Health Policy Research and completing the Measey Medical Education Fellowship. Her clinical interests focus on education and mechanical ventilation concerning patient-centered outcomes. In her research, she aims to understand health inequities related to serious illness, particularly advanced lung disease and critical care. She serves as Co-Director of the COPD Program at the University of Chicago and is part of the Core Faculty in the Internal Medicine Residency Program, where she co-directs intern recruitment. She has contributed to various academic papers addressing critical issues in health equity and medical education.
