Dr. Deeph Chana

Biography

Professor Practice at Imperial College Business School with extensive experience in world-leading STEM academia, industry, and government. Co-Director of the Institute of Security Science and Technology and the Centre for Financial Technology, and co-founder of the UK Government-funded Research Institute for Trustworthy Industrial Control Systems. Involved in the Imperial's FinTech Network of Excellence and a consultancy specializing in critical infrastructure technology. His work encompasses a range of applied and theoretical research areas including inverse problems, image processing, optical data storage, antenna design, diabetic retinopathy, computational modeling, space debris, explosives detection, crowd analysis, machine learning, and cybersecurity. Previously a senior science and technology official with the UK Government, Deeph has led international STEM diplomacy initiatives, directed funding for national security research programs, and set national technology policy and standards. He has provided advice to four Secretaries of State and has chaired numerous high-profile national and international technology working groups. Deeph has established research calls and acted as a board member and bid reviewer for various programs, including the Home Office and EU's Framework Programme for Research.
