Dr. Deirdre Cronin Fenton

Biography

Deirdre Cronin Fenton is a Professor at Aarhus University specializing in cancer epidemiology, with a particular focus on breast cancer prognosis. Her research employs advanced epidemiological methods utilizing Danish registries, clinical databases, and biobanks to gain insights into breast cancer survivorship and prognosis. She leads a research group in breast cancer at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and teaches undergraduate, master's, and PhD courses in clinical and cancer epidemiology. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from University College Cork in Ireland, and a PhD in Biotechnology with a concentration in molecular biology and cancer research from Dublin City University, Ireland. Cronin Fenton has extensive experience in commissioned research as a cancer epidemiologist and has collaborated with various national and international researchers and institutions. She has held positions on several steering committees and has been involved in numerous projects focused on breast cancer treatment adherence, prognostic factors, and outcomes, particularly concerning cancer recurrence.
