Dr. Deisy Del Real

Biography

Deisy Del Real is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Southern California (USC). Her research focuses on the social construction of legal immigration systems and the socio-legal contexts affecting immigrant lives. Dr. Del Real's work encompasses a range of issues, including immigration enforcement and rights, and explores how these factors intersect within broader societal frameworks. In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, she serves as an appointed delegate for both the American Sociological Association and the International Sociological Association, contributing to discussions on international migration and socio-legal studies. Dr. Del Real completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2019.
