Biography

Dejan Draschkow is an Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at Brasenose College, affiliated with the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity (OHBA) and the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (WIN). He leads the Adaptive Behaviour & Cognition Lab, where the research program focuses on understanding cognition as it unfolds in ecologically valid, naturalistic behavior within real-world contexts. His primary interest lies in how memories across different timescales are formed during natural tasks and, in turn, how these memories guide a wide variety of behaviors. His group further investigates how individuals selectively prioritize information in memory to serve ongoing behavior. A significant part of his work is advancing research and developing the utilization of methods necessary to measure cognitive processes in unconstrained behavioral settings. His research topics have covered open reproducible research practices, Virtual Reality, permutation tests for MEG/EEG data, online behavioral experiments, and mixed-effects/multilevel models. Dejan teaches Core Practical R Hackathons to undergraduate students and Statistical Methods & Theory to graduate students. His work has been recognized with the Early Career Excellent Teacher Award from the Medical Sciences Division.
