Dr. Delanie Woodlock

Biography

Delanie Woodlock is a feminist researcher and Senior Research Fellow in the Arts, Design & Architecture at the University of New South Wales. With an honours degree in Women’s Studies, a Master of Social Work, and a PhD in Sociology, she is dedicated to advancing the understanding of men's violence against women and children. Dr. Woodlock has conducted pioneering research on the use of technology by perpetrators of domestic violence and child abuse, significantly contributing to the development of government policies in Australia. Her recent work expands the field of technology-facilitated abuse research, particularly focusing on child sexual abuse material as a gendered form of violence. She aims to enhance theoretical understandings of violence against women and children, especially regarding concepts such as coercive control and the tactics perpetrators use involving technology. Additionally, Dr. Woodlock provides invaluable support and training to academics and students, addressing the minimization of risks associated with vicarious trauma, particularly in domestic and sexual violence research.
