Biography

Delphine Boche is a Professor of Neuroimmunopathology at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on understanding the consequences of neuroinflammation in patients affected by neurological diseases. Delphine earned her PhD in 1997 from the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, where she worked on AIDS encephalopathy using models like FIV-cats and SIV-monkeys. She joined the University of Southampton in 1999 to study neuroinflammation in acute and chronic neurodegenerative diseases under the guidance of Professor Hugh Perry in the Centre of Biological Sciences. In 2004, Delphine transitioned to the Faculty of Medicine to investigate the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease, particularly in patients immunized with Aβ 42, focusing on the main neuropathological features of the condition. She has received several accolades for her research contributions, including the Bourse Roux (Institut Pasteur Fellowship in 1998), the European Marie Curie Individual Fellowship in 2000, the MRC New Investigator Award in 2006, and the Wellcome Trust Value People Award in 2009.
