Biography

Delphine Vincent has been a lecturer and researcher in musicology at the University of Fribourg since 2013, where she obtained her doctorate and habilitation. Her research focuses on contemporary opera, film music, Swiss music, the relationship between music and visual media, French music from the second half of the 19th century, and the staging of opera. Her work on Swiss music was awarded the Prix Meylan in 2021. She is the author of numerous articles and books, including 'Film Opera: Operatic Cinematic Dramaturgy' (LIM), 'Classical Music on Screen and Cultural Perception' (L’Harmattan), and 'From Soul to Pen': The Letters of Charles Gounod to the Duchess Colonna, known as Marcello (Peter Lang). She edited 'Verdi Screen' (L’Âge d’Homme) and 'Romandy Mythologies: Gustave Doret and National Music' (Peter Lang). Her research and publications include projects like 'Beautiful Country of the Vine': Music for All and the Construction of Romande Identity, 1900-1945, and other significant contributions during her time at the University of Fribourg.
