Dr. Denham Phipps

Biography

Denham Phipps is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester, specifically associated with the Manchester Pharmacy School and the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Translational Research Centre. He has a robust background in occupational psychology, having completed his PhD at the University of Manchester in 2008 after obtaining his BSc (Hons) in Human Psychology from Aston University in 2001 and an MSc in Applied Psychology from Cranfield University in 2005. His research focuses primarily on ergonomics and human factors within healthcare, with particular interests in safety culture, cognitive ergonomics, and risk management. Throughout his career, Denham has contributed to various projects aimed at improving patient safety and the effectiveness of systems in healthcare settings. In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, he is involved in professional bodies such as the British Psychological Society and the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors. Denham holds the position of Lecturer with a specific focus on patient safety, where he applies his extensive knowledge to teach and develop future professionals in the field.
