Biography

Denis Soulières received his medical training at Laval University and the University of Montreal in pediatrics, adult and pediatric hematology, and medical and pediatric oncology. He later completed his training in clinical therapeutic development. He works as a hematologist and medical oncologist at the oncology center of CHUM-Hôpital Notre-Dame, specifically treating patients with head and neck tumors, urological cancers, and lymphomas. He directs the special hematology and molecular biology laboratory of the Department of Hematology-Transfusion Medicine at CHUM, which is a Canadian reference center. He is the medical director of head and neck oncology and the clinic for hemoglobinopathies and thalassemias. He is active in clinical research, having participated as a principal investigator in 75 clinical trials and as a co-investigator in 200 studies within his institution. He led the Clinical Research Unit in oncology at CHUM for three years and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Clinical Trials Group of the Canadian Cancer Institute for 7 years. He also participates in some fundamental research studies and correlational medicine for head and neck pathologies in particular.
