Biography

Denise L. Anthony is a professor at the University of Michigan's Department of Health Management and Policy, where she holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Sociology. She joined the University of Michigan in 2018 after serving as the past Chair of the Department of Sociology at Dartmouth College from 2007 to 2011. Dr. Anthony has also worked as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine. She was the Vice Provost for Academic Initiatives at Dartmouth from 2014 to 2017 and contributed as the Research Director at the Institute for Security, Technology, and Society (ISTS) at Dartmouth between 2008 and 2013. Her current research focuses on the implications of Health Information Technologies (HIT) for patient trust, engagement, and the impact of HIT on health care delivery and quality, clinical practice, and patient outcomes.
