Biography

Denise S. Kim, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology at Michigan Medicine, where she specializes in orbital ophthalmic plastic reconstructive surgery. Dr. Kim completed her medical training at the University of Michigan Medical School and subsequently completed her residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. She furthered her expertise with a rigorous two-year fellowship in adult and pediatric oculoplastics and orbital cosmetic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kim’s clinical interests focus on the evaluation and treatment of adult and pediatric patients with eyelid and orbital disorders. Her areas of expertise include surgery for ptosis and dermatochalasis, management of ectropion and entropion, and addressing lacrimal drainage disorders. Additionally, she engages in Mohs reconstruction for periorbital skin cancer, repair of eyelid and orbital trauma, and performs Botox injections for blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. She also provides surgical intervention and medical management for thyroid eye disease and idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
