Dr. Denise Marigold

Biography

Denise Marigold is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Development Studies at the University of Waterloo, specializing in Social Psychology. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo and a B.Sc. degree from York University. Her research focuses on close relationships, exploring themes such as social support, attachment, self-esteem, and positive psychology. Marigold has published extensively on these topics, contributing to the understanding of how perceptions of support and interpersonal dynamics affect individuals' emotional well-being and relationship resilience. She teaches courses in Positive Psychology, Social Psychology, Interpersonal Relations, and Close Relationships, engaging students in critical discussions on the psychological principles governing human connections. Apart from her teaching duties, she has participated in various research projects and published numerous articles in leading psychology journals. Marigold's work is aimed at helping individuals navigate the complexities of their social interactions and promote healthier relationship practices.
