Biography

Denise Salters, D.H.Sc., is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Biobehavioral Health field at Penn State Harrisburg. She holds a Doctorate in Health Science with a focus on Exercise Leadership from the California University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in Health Human Performance from Sul Ross State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with an emphasis on Health and Wellness Promotion from Texas State University. Her research interests revolve around success and stress among Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students, emphasizing the importance of cultural competency in reducing health disparities among college students. She is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, striving to create equitable spaces that empower university students, faculty, and staff to enhance overall health and wellness.
