Biography

Dr. Bulman completed a B.Sc. in Genetics and an M.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Western Ontario, followed by a Ph.D. in Molecular Medical Genetics at the University of Toronto in 1993. He began his academic career at the University of Western Ontario in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences before moving to Ottawa in 1997 to join the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Dr. Bulman is certified by the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists and the American College of Medical Genetics in Clinical Molecular Genetics and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Medical Genetics. In 2012, he joined Newborn Screening Ontario at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. His research focuses on the identification of genes associated with rare genetic disorders and the implementation of new molecular testing paradigms, particularly in newborn screening.
