Biography

Dennis Lund, born in Duluth, MN, attended Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He received general surgical training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and specialized in pediatric surgery at Boston Children's Hospital. He started his career as a trauma and transplant pediatric surgeon at Boston Children's Hospital. In 1999, he became Surgeon-in-Chief at the University of Wisconsin Children's Hospital and in 2001, he was appointed Chair of General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 2011 until 2015, he served as Executive Vice President and Surgeon-in-Chief at Phoenix Children's Hospital. In March 2015, he joined the Stanford faculty in Pediatric Surgery and has held roles such as Associate Dean for Faculty in Pediatrics and Chief Medical Officer at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Notably, he served as interim President and CEO of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital from March 2018 to January 2019. His extensive academic and clinical experience has significantly contributed to the field of pediatric surgery.
