Dr. Dennis Norman

Biography

Dennis Norman is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Graduate School of Education. He holds an Ed.D. from Harvard University since 1981 and is a board-certified clinical psychologist specialized in child and adolescent psychology. Norman has a strong dedication to culturally appropriate health care services and has contributed significantly to the Harvard Native American Program. His research interests focus on personality structure and functioning, psychosocial adjustment to chronic illness and trauma, and the neuropsychological correlates of ADHD. He has extensive experience in clinical settings, having served as the chief of psychology at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1989. His background in clinical psychology is complemented by his educational journey, which includes a Master’s degree in child development from Tufts University. Norman's work emphasizes the importance of integrating cultural considerations into psychological care.
