Dr. Dennis Prak

Biography

Dennis Prak is an assistant professor in the section of Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems at the University of Twente. He holds a Master's degree in Operations Research and a second Master's in Economics & Business, both obtained in 2014, and completed his PhD in 2019 at the University of Groningen. His main research interests encompass inventory management, demand forecasting, data-driven optimization, and logistics. He is actively involved in a collaborative research project with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines under the initiative 'Operations Research AI Airline Operations', aiming to enhance strategic and tactical decision-making through data-driven methodologies. Prak coordinates a minor in Aerospace Management & Operations and tutors advanced courses in inventory management. He has also taken part in various academic projects, including internships focused on demand predictions in collaboration with KLM. In 2021, he was a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Munich, working on data-driven inventory management in dynamic supply chains. Dennis has published multiple works focusing on his research fields, contributing to the academic community.
