Denyse Delcourt is a professor emerita in French at the University of Washington. With a Ph.D. from Université de Montréal, she has contributed significantly to the field of French medieval literature. Delcourt has published two novels, "Gabrielle au bois dormant" (Editions Trois, 2001) and "Rouge" (Lévesque Editeur, 2015). Additionally, she authored "L'Ethique du changement dans le roman français du Moyen Age" (Geneva: Droz, 1990), and edited "French Fairy Tales: Essays Major Literary Tradition" (Cognella, 2011). She co-edited "De Theoria: Early Modern Essays Memory" (MLN, 2012) with Stephen Nichols. Her articles on French medieval romances have appeared in prominent journals such as Le Moyen Français, Romanic Review, Medieavalia & Humanistica, Medieovo Romanzo, and MLN. Delcourt has been teaching at the University of Washington since 1990 and has also taught at universities including Queens (Canada), Emory, Northwestern, and Duke.
