Biography

Derek Drayer is a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, working in International Tax with a focus on Transfer Pricing. Currently based in London, he heads the Transfer Pricing Tax Desk, assisting European companies in navigating tax transfer pricing issues as they enter the market. Prior to his current role, Derek worked at Ernst & Young in Seattle, where he assisted companies with global transfer pricing planning, documentation, audit, and controversy issues while also teaching Economics part-time at Seattle University. Before joining Ernst & Young, Derek co-founded and served as Vice President of Academic Outreach for Study Edge, an online education startup, where he developed and recorded Economic Finance course content and built relationships with colleges and universities in Florida. Derek has presented on transfer pricing at a wide array of conferences, including the Tax Executive Institute Conferences and the Nordic Tax Conference, as well as in the Global Tax Spotlight Webcasts series. His research interests primarily focus on technology and consumer goods industries, particularly in areas such as intangible property ownership, global transfer pricing documentation, transfer pricing controversy, and operating model effectiveness.
