Biography

Derek Keir is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton, specializing in Earth Science with a focus on Ocean Earth Science. With over a decade of experience, he has led passive seismology efforts within the Geology Geophysics research group, utilizing techniques such as remote sensing, geochemistry, and field geology to study earthquakes and volcanic activity. His academic background includes an MSci in Geology Geophysics from Imperial College London and a PhD in Tectonics and Seismology from Royal Holloway, University of London.
