Biography

Devin Fraser is an Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University. He holds a Master of Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). He earned a place on the CPA National Honour Roll, ranking among the top percent of exam writers in Canada. Prior to joining academia, Devin worked with PwC Canada's Audit & Assurance group, focusing on financial services, pensions, and not-for-profit clients, as well as leading forensic investigations and risk assessments using advanced data analytics. He also served as Finance Manager at Smart & Biggar, Canada's largest intellectual property law firm. At Carleton, Devin teaches financial accounting and data analytics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has authored widely-used teaching materials and has coached award-winning international case competition teams. His Master of Accounting students have achieved notable success on the CPA Honour Roll. Devin is actively involved in the profession through CPA Canada, where he contributes as an author and currently serves on the CFE leadership team as Assistant Team Leader. He also participates in national consultations for the new CPA Professional Program, while holding the position of Academic Director for the MBA Programs and Teaching Area Coordinator for Accounting at Sprott School of Business.
