Biography

Devon Brooks joined the faculty in 1999 and teaches human behavior and research methodology in the Master of Social Work (MSW) program, as well as research methodology in the PhD program. His research practice interests generally revolve around the reduction and treatment of child maltreatment, with a focus on racial and ethnic disparities. He has expertise in Child Welfare, Risk Assessment, Research Methodology, Children & Families, and Mental Health. Additionally, he has served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute from 2007 to 2011. Throughout his career, he has received various accolades for his contributions to the field, including the Culture Mentoring Award granted by the University of Southern California's School of Social Work in 2009 and the Mellon Faculty Mentoring Award in 2008.
