Biography

Dhanpat Jain, MD, is a Professor of Pathology and Internal Medicine with a focus on Digestive Diseases at Yale University School of Medicine. He graduated from Mysore Medical College, India in 1986 with a MBBS degree and later obtained an MD in Pathology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, India in 1991. After moving to the United States in 1995, he completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology and a Fellowship in Gastrointestinal Pathology at Yale University. Dr. Jain is a nationally and internationally recognized gastrointestinal pathologist, with significant expertise in liver pathology and motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. He has authored over 150 publications, including articles, book chapters, and reviews in his field. His research primarily focuses on liver tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma, and he also studies gastrointestinal motility disorders. Dr. Jain is known for his diagnostic skills, research contributions, and teaching excellence, having been continuously nominated as one of the “Best Doctors in America.” He actively consults on challenging cases from around the world and is engaged in various academic and research activities related to gastrointestinal diseases.
