Biography

Dr. Diala Steitieh completed an accelerated premedical program followed by her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar. After graduating, she moved to New York to complete her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital. She served as the chief fellow in the cardiovascular division and is the director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center. Dr. Steitieh offers clinical practice in general cardiology with a focus on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and sports cardiology, caring for patients with a wide array of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary disease and valvular heart disease. In addition to her outpatient work at the Weill Greenberg Center, she also serves as an attending physician for inpatient services at New York Presbyterian Hospital, including in the intensive care unit and cardiac units. Dr. Steitieh is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Society, and she is involved as a principal investigator in clinical studies at Cornell, participating in outcomes research within the division of Cardiology.
