Biography

Diana Brecher is an Adjunct Faculty and a Clinical Psychologist at the Centre for Student Development Counselling at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she has been working since 1991. She has dedicated 25 years to the Centre, holding roles as a counsellor, supervisor, and director. In 2013, she was awarded the Ontario Psychological Association award for excellence in clinical teaching, primarily focusing on supervising psychology graduate students. Brecher has taught graduate courses in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and clinical supervision to graduate students and mental health professionals at the Chang School. Her enduring interest in Positive Psychology has led her to develop the ThriveRU program for Student Affairs, which focuses on training students, faculty, and staff in resilience. Her long-term goal is to infuse principles of resilience and flourishing into the programming, services, and curriculum at Toronto Metropolitan University to facilitate cultural change.
