Professor Dr. Diana Gustafson

Biography

Diana L. Gustafson is an Honorary Research Professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has extensive academic experience, holding degrees from McMaster (BA), Brock (MEd), and Toronto (PhD). Her research interests primarily focus on qualitative research methodologies, including narrative inquiry and narrative medicine, as well as scholarly writing competencies and academic editing. Dr. Gustafson is actively involved in research projects aimed at addressing knowledge gaps in primary care regarding vulvodynia, a condition significantly impacting patients' quality of life. She has facilitated numerous academic writing workshops at Concordia University, highlighting her commitment to enhancing academic writing skills among students and professionals. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with several awards, including the Dr. Wallace Ingram Award and the MUNSU Teaching Award. Additionally, she served as the Graduate Program Coordinator and has co-authored work that explores participatory action research and family health work across generations, underscoring her dedication to advancing knowledge in her fields of expertise.
