Biography

Diana Marculescu is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin, holding the Motorola Regents Chair and the Cockrell Family Chair in Engineering Leadership. She joined UT Austin in December 2019 and previously served as the David Edward Schramm Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Founding Director of the College of Engineering Center for Faculty Success at Carnegie Mellon University from 2015 to 2019. Her research interests focus on energy-reliability-aware computing, hardware-aware machine learning, and computing sustainability in natural science applications. Diana has received prestigious awards including the National Science Foundation Faculty Career Award, the ACM SIGDA Technical Leadership Award, and the George Tallman Ladd Research Award from Carnegie Institute of Technology. As a recognized leader in her field, she has served as a distinguished lecturer for the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and chaired various conferences. Diana is a Fellow of the ACM and IEEE and a selected ELATE Fellow. Her contributions have also been acknowledged with the Marie R. Pistilli Women EDA Achievement Award and the Barbara Lazarus Award from Carnegie Mellon University.
