Professor Dr. Diana Messadi

Biography

Dr. Diana Messadi is a Professor and Chair of the Section of Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, and Orofacial Pain at UCLA School of Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Alexandria University, Egypt, in 1979 and pursued postdoctoral training in the United States, earning a Master of Medical Sciences and a Doctorate of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Messadi has held various prominent positions at UCLA, including Associate Dean of Education and Academic Dean. A recipient of multiple NIH and private foundation grants, she focuses on oral cancer detection and telehealth applications for underserved populations. Beyond her administrative roles, she has mentored numerous undergraduate and postdoctoral students and authored over 75 research articles, 15 book chapters, and 92 abstracts, contributing significantly to the fields of oral medicine and oncology.
