Biography

Diana Rodríguez-Gómez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her work examines education policy-making processes in contexts affected by violence, with a particular focus on Latin America. Currently, she is leading a research project that employs qualitative ethnographic methods to explore the concepts of state formation and fragility, centered around a school located near the Colombia-Venezuela border. In addition to her research, Rodríguez-Gómez oversees the EPS’s Study Abroad program in Colombia, where students engage with issues related to human rights within the context of Colombia's educational system. She holds an Ed.D. in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has authored several publications that reflect her commitment to critical educational research and advocacy in regions of conflict.
