Diane Beauchemin is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Queen's University. Her research interests predominantly focus on inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) and optical emission spectrometry (OES), exploring fundamental applications and limitations of these techniques. Beauchemin is dedicated to enhancing sensitivity and calibration methods while also expanding the application range of ICPMS and OES in areas such as geochemical exploration and food safety. Among her contributions, she has developed methods for single particle ICPMS and improved forensic analysis techniques for trace evidence. Her collaborative projects include co-leading a multi-institutional NSERC Discovery Frontiers project on nickel electrocatalysts and participating in a significant development project on new ICPMS-based methods.
