Biography

Diane P. Wood is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School and serves as a circuit judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, appointed in 1995. She received her BA in English with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971 and her JD with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1975, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. After her graduation, she clerked for Judge Irving L. Goldberg and Justice Harry Blackmun. Wood has held positions in both academia and government, including serving as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and Assistant Professor of Law at Georgetown University. Wood has authored numerous articles and has been a notable speaker on antitrust policy and legal issues at various conferences worldwide. She has also taken part in international dialogues concerning judicial ethics and competition law. She is a member of several professional affiliations including the American Law Institute and the International Academy of Comparative Law.
