Biography

Dick Ettema is a Professor of Urban Social Inclusion in the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. His research addresses significant urban challenges, focusing on travel behavior, land use-transport interactions, mobility innovations, and sustainable health practices. Following this, he worked for consultancy firms including the Hague Consulting Group and Grontmij (now Sweco) from 1996 to 2003, before joining Utrecht University. He currently leads the chair on Urban Social Inclusion, contributing to both research and teaching in this vital area.
