Diego Aguilar Ramirez is an Intermediate Research Fellow based at the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on observational genetic epidemiology, particularly investigating the determinants of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases and their impact on the health of the Mexican population. He leads research capacity-building efforts in collaborations with Mexico-based researchers. In addition to his research, Diego serves as a tutor for the Principles of Epidemiology module in the MSc Global Health Science program and teaches the Epidemiology and Public Health thread in the standard undergraduate Medical School course. He also supervises postgraduate research students from Oxford studying in Mexico. Diego completed his medicine degree at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, graduating in 2015, after which he worked as a junior researcher and lecturer until 2017. He holds an MSc in Global Health Science and a DPhil in Population Health from the University of Oxford.
